Who are the biggest CBD consumers?

A report by World’s Top Exports on the import of cannabis oils found that US$3.1 billion worth of CBD oil was imported worldwide in 2019. A significant increase of 38.6% up on 2015. This figure is no doubt growing as more and more countries have made CBD legal and health squares up as a central priority in people’s lives.

Although Europe as a continent spent the most on imported CBD oils ($1.1 billion), America was the country with the highest import of cannabis oils – $893.2 million to be exact – which equates to 28.7% of CBD imports for the year. South Korea was a big consumer with $207.7 million making up 6.7% of the global value on imports. And China may be a sleeping giant as it currently only accounted for 2.6% of global imports but has a massive population that could soon become a significant market as government restrictions look set to further relax.
