Dementia Patients Could Benefit from CBD
Global cases of dementia currently stand at 50 million people per year, a number the World Health Organisation predicts will triple by 2050 . It’s a disease that has enormous impact on the individual wellbeing of the patient and the family surrounding them and is often a slow, distressing degeneration. After seeing the positive results of CBD in the treatment of a number of mental health and physical wellness complaints, CBD’s experimental use for dementia treatment has a growing number of advocates with more and more studies being conducted around the use of CBD and dementia. The upside is that there is excellent initial evidence to support significant improvements in behaviour and body rigidity when CBD has been administered to those suffering severe dementia. CBD is much safer than many of the chemical alternatives used in treating the disease and has little to no side effects too. Doctors are clear that we need to do more to help people manage this increasingly prevalent disease.
