Most people are familiar with THC and CBD but last year scientists discovered two new cannabinoids from the cannabis plant – THCP (tetrahydrocannabiphorol) and CBDP (cannabidiphorol).
THCP has been found to be around 30 times stronger than THC and although the scientists who isolated CBDP have not been able to verify whether the same will be true for CBDP, they note that it takes a similar composition to CBD and has a similar advanced profile to the way THCP does over THC and they speculate that it may well be a stronger compound. The next step is to investigate whether that is true and how these new cannabinoids interact with each other and with the human body. Cannabis is certainly proving to be an endless plant pharmacy and it’s secrets are only just being revealed.
