Scientists seem to have enough faith in the medicinal properties of CBD to be sending the plant to space. Newsweek reported that Front Range Biosciences were sending hemp cell cultures on the SpaceX mission to the International Space Station earlier this year with the intention of trialing hemp propagation beyond the earth’s orbit. Hemp is the plant from which CBD is extracted. NASA has already successfully trialled several plants in space. Scientists are particularly interested in seeing what microgravity will do to the hemp plant and whether it undergoes any mutations as a result. We have not been able to read reports on the results of their mission but will update you as soon as we do!
