Experts Caution Against CBD in the Early Stages of Covid

March 12, 20211 min read

Doctors from Israel’s Stero BioTechs have cautioned that early clinical trials showing how CBD’s effectiveness in the fight against cytokine inflammation in advanced Covid patients could point to concerns about using CBD in the early stages of Covid. This is because cytokines are in fact a natural response to infection in the body and are needed to put up a fight against a viral attack.

CBD’s potent natural anti-inflammatory properties may hamper the initial response. However, one of the symptoms of severe Covid is the cytokine storm where the body’s cytokine response goes into massive overdrive causing life-threatening inflammation. CBD has shown to be a viable way to successfully treat this stage of Covid and even repair damaged lung tissues in Covid survivors.
