A study by The Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, that was conducted by the Tel Aviv University and Hebrew University has found that CBD has proven effective in improving mineralisation of the bone tissue in animals. Head researcher Yankel Gabet explained that CBD clearly made the bone stronger during healing from a break and harder to break in future. This suggests that CBD may be advantageous for overall bone health maintenance and healing, particularly for the elderly, who often suffer from decreased bone density and are prone to bone breaks – finding it hard to recover from a break.
Broken bones in the elderly is often a key event leading to decreased independence and quality of life and a downward spiral for overall health. These breakthroughs also signal potential for CBD to be used in the treatment of serious and debilitating bone diseases like osteoporosis.
