CBD beauty industry set to boom

November 15, 20201 min read

CBD beauty products are relatively new in South Africa but the head start gained in US markets has given a window into CBD’s projected growth in the cosmetic market. Research conducted by Grand View, shows that the CBD skincare market which was valued at USD 234.1 million in 2018, will rise by a compound annual growth rate of 32.9% per annum from 2019 to 2025.

Growth has been driven by many mainstream and top trend cosmetic brands infusing CBD into their products. The results are also being shared extensively by a network of social media users who report successes in managing dry skin, eczema and acne. As the search for non-toxic, natural products that deliver on results continues, CBD is winning over more and more clients with big names like Kiehl’s and Sephora getting in on the action. CBD skin products are also jumping the line on sleepy cosmetic houses who are resisting the wave, making now the time for disruptor brands to take hold and shine.
