It’s the Festive season and for many of us it’s a time of celebration. From eggnog to champagne, a beer for Santa and a soaking of brandy in the fruitcake, alcohol seems to be everywhere. But if you are taking CBD you may be concerned about the effect alcohol has when used in combination with your daily dose. Both CBD and alcohol are known for relaxation and a sense of ease but do they mingle well?
Research suggests that taking a combination of alcohol and CBD increases the effect of both. In particular, causing noticeable sleepiness and possibly affecting mood and behaviour and even impairing the concept of time. However studies have shown that taking CBD on its own had none of these side-effects.
More research is needed but there are also positive indications that CBD may prevent some damage to the liver and reduce addictive feelings towards alcohol.
