Biden’s take on cannabis

The cannabis industry could be a big winner on US Election Day

It’s still too close to call but if Biden takes the US Election, he will be the next President of the United States. While the CBD industry continues to boom in the USA, what does this mean for legal cannabis use in the States?

Well, Biden seems cautious. He has taken the hard line on drug use over the years but has shown signs of softening on cannabis in this last round of campaigning – stating that he thinks more research should be done but that no one should be going to jail for smoking marijuana.

His VP candidate Kamala Harris was more forthright saying, “We will decriminalise cannabis, and we will expunge the records of those who have been convicted of (possessing) cannabis.” With some states where cannabis sales have been legalised reporting 30% growth of sales since the start of the pandemic, it looks like there’s no stopping these green shoots.
