Adapted Molecules of CBD to treat Skin issues
Scientists have been able to manipulate CBD molecules to accelerate their potency in a significant advance for the treatment of skin disorders. Health Europa reports that a partnership between the University of Cordoba and the University of Dundee has shown for the first time that CBD induces the expression of an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory enzyme (heme oxygenase) in cells on the top layer of the skin.
By turning up the volume on some of the proteins in CBD and turning up the volume of others, the researchers successfully adjusted the way that certain genes are expressed. These specific genes help to protect cells against oxidative stress. Super-powered CBD creams? Not too far-fetched it seems.
